Obituary of Bobby Ray Plemons

Bobby Ray Plemons, 57, of Soddy Daisy, and formerly of Meigs County, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in an area hospital. He was born in Athens, TN and a graduate of McMinn County High School. He is a Vietnam veteran, avid motorcycle enthusiast, and a member of Woodward Avenue Church of God in Athens, TN. Mr. Plemons was the former owner of Bob’s Barber Shop in Decatur and Athens, TN, Hixson Barber Shop in Hixson and the current owner and operator of Bob’s Cloverleaf Barber Shop in Hixson. He was preceded in death by his father: James Luther Plemons; aunt, Alice Thompson; and sister, Doris Shelton. He is survived by his wife: Pat Plemons of Soddy-Daisy, Mother, Thelma Marie German of Decatur, TN; sons, Rob Plemons and Clint Plemons both of Athens, TN; and Terry Culbertson of Soddy-Daisy; daughters, Sonya Baker of Athens, TN; Michelle Plemons of Cleveland, TN; and Teresa Roach of Hixson; Brother, Gene Foust of Cleveland, TN; Sisters, Shirley Fleming of Savannah, GA; Billie Crabtree of Decatur, TN; Jan Pitts of North Carolina and Staci Wilson of Athens, TN; 13 Grandchildren and Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, August 18, 2006 at Woodward Avenue Church of God in Athens with Bro. Ronnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery in Englewood, TN with full military honors. All of Bob and Pat’s biker friends are invited after the funeral service to join the funeral procession on their motorcycles from the church to the cemetery. Scott Crowe, Gregg Crowe, Steve Cato, Donald Keyes, Butch Tipton, Larry Williams and Leon Baker will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Thursday at Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Woodward Avenue Church of God, Athens, TN.
