Dear Bob, Jeff, Kim, and others, Skip and I want to express our heartfelt sympathy to you. I know you are all devasted by Crystal's passing, and must be at a loss as to what to do without her in your lives. Crystal was such a kind, intelligent, energetic woman, though, whose life was lived with vigor and enthusiasm. When she was at Chattanooga State, I had lots of interactions with her when she would call to request a new book by an author that both she and Bob enjoyed reading. She introduced me and other reatders to David Baldacci, Vince Flynn, and Iris Johansen, and whenever I see their names, I always think of you both. Bob, we enjoyed the dinners we had at your house and at local restaurants, and were happy to have you in our home. I wish we could have done more together. Sharing stories of our children and grandchildren was wonderful. Kim and Jeff, although we have never met, your mom talked about you to us on many occasions--her concern for your well-being, your lives in cities far away like our boys are, and her pride in your accomplishments. And like all grandmothers, as I am, she loved to tell us about her grandkids and how much she missed them and loved it when you all got together. I know you will miss her every day. I know that there is little I can say to ease your pain, but just know that Crystal has been in our thoughts and prayers for quite a long time. We will miss her, too, and will continue to remember her. My own mother passed away 4 years ago while in Hospice care, and not a day goes by that I don't think about, miss, and want to hug her one more time. I was so thankful for the wonderful care that the Hospice staff gave her, and I appreciate your wish for donations to go to that dedicated organization.
