I knew Brooke, only as her landlord for 5 years. What I know about her was that she was a woman of her word. And that she was a fighter that did not complain. These are traits that are easier talked about than lived. I had great respect for her. I am so sorry for your loss.

Brooke/Malice exhibited love in every step of her day. She welcomed hellbender to the Ruby Regulators and coached her team line the warrior she was. She made the world a better place with her presence and it is a better place because she lived here, even if too briefly. To her family and rolller derby sisters: I am so so sorry and please know I am sending you all a lot of love.

May God bless Brooke, her family and friends. I’ve watched her struggle thru the eyes of my Neice, Brooke was no ordinary person, a fierce fighter and a dreamer.... All angels are waiting.

Malice was the first Chattanooga skater I ever met, at a skate clinic. I was with Dixie, and my daughter was interested in helping to start a junior derby team. We were so much in awe of her, as a skater, as a coach, and as a person, but she was so warm and welcoming. There will never be another like her. Much love to you all, to her family, friends, and league.

In August of 2016, Brooke and I would take our first road trip together to Appalachian State University. We had a long drive to laugh and talk and share parts of our lives since we had only known each other for a few months. Neither of us knew that evening would involve me splitting my head open before derby and Malice holding my hand afterwards while I received staples. "Don't be a baby and after you get released I will take you to Waffle House." We went to WH and then shared a full size pull out couch in a freezing cold room under my extra quilt that was in my car while I was happily medicated. This isn't my only memory of a trip with Malice but it meant the most. She went above & beyond in taking care of me and she will forever live on in my heart.
