Doris and I have such a regard for Russell. He represented the best people can be. For years every 4 weeks I would come into the Kings Den. Russ and I would begin our banter. Russ would put in the chair and religiously ask, "What would you like for me to do today?" My reply never failed; "Just make me look scholarly and handsome". Russell's reply never failed; "I'm a barber not a plastic surgeon"! For years we rehearsed and practiced this predictable dialogue. It was our opening remarks, and preface leading to lengthy car talk. Russ was a great friend, an ideal neighbor, and a fine fine person. I feel fortunate to have shared in his life. Our condolences to you and your family in this loss.

Russ and I worked together at Avis. He was a great, kind man. I really enjoyed working with him. He was soft spoken and he was a good hearted person. I enjoyed riding with him on road trips. He always had a good story to share.
Russ will be greatly missed. It was surely a pleasure to know him.

Karen, our hearts are broken over Russ’s passing. Even though he has had heart issues for many years; with your loving care he has done so well and we just wanted that to continue on and on. You both have been the ultimate parent to Donnie and wonderful grandparents to your beautiful grandchildren. We can’t help but think of how we met you - at the ballfields of course! When Donnie and Todd played on the King’s Den team - so much fun! Later we were privileged to be in Care Group at Bayside together. That was such a wonderful time. We sill consider most of those friends as our best and that certainly includes you and Russ. And don’t forget Cruisin’ the Coast years - it was always a treat to see y’all there and Russ and Dan would compare notes on all those beautiful cars, I apologize and am again heart broken not being able to be with you today; unfortunately, my health is not good and Dan is overly protective right now. Please know we love you and hope to be able see u soon.

I had the privilege of working with Russell at Avis Budget group the past few years. We went on several over the road trips to Atlanta and Knoxville. I so enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor! Russell will be missed very much. Prayers go out to his family.

My prayers are with you on this time of grief! I have so many fond memories of Russ! Specifically, I remember riding in the back of a pickup from baseball to your house, dirt bike riding where I said I knew how to ride but it became obvious immediately that I had no clue, sleepovers, and many hair cuts. I always felt like Russ was in my corner and believed in me as a child. I pray the shalom of God upon you.
