Obituary of Johnny Ray Horne

Johnny Ray Horne, 84, of Soddy-Daisy passed away quickly and quietly on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at his home. Johnny was born on December 30, 1934 to the late Alvin and Margie Davis Horne in Soddy, TN. He was a retired Teamster Local 515 truck driver for forty-three years, and worked part time at Abba's House for nineteen years in security. Johnny was an active member at Abba's House for over thirty years, serving as a deacon and active in the senior ministry. He loved his God, family and country.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Diane (Basil) Jenkins; wife, Mary Womack Horne; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Walter and Lola Johnson; sister-in-law, Sylvia Johnson.

Survivors include his wife of thirty five years, Carolyn Horne; sons, Jonathan Horne and Kenneth (Jan) Horne; daughters, Laura Horne, Ginger (David) Cox and Debbie Cates; sisters, Doris (W.R.) Womack, Brenda (Jim) Buchanan, Donna (Barry) Clouse and Connie (Carl) Shaw; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; several aunts, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Abba's House, 5208 Hixson Pike Hixson, TN 37343. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday at Abba's House with Pastor Angie McGregor and Judge Clarence Shattuck officiating. Mr. Hone will lie in state from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
