Obituary of Lillie Bledsoe

Lillie Marie Bledsoe, 88, died peacefully at her home on May 13, 2013. She went to her heavenly home after a long illness. She was born on June 6, 1925 in Hazard, Ky., to the late John and Ella Carr. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and Eastern Star Mayflower Chapter 141. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow W. Bledsoe and her sisters, Mae Kerns, Almedia Dickens; brothers, Henry Carr, Lenard Carr. Survivors include her sons: Darvon (Sherron), Leon (Annette); Grandchildren, Mike Bledsoe, Mark Bledsoe, Keith Bledsoe, Christy Bledsoe-Elliott, Michelle Bledsoe-Runyan; step grandsons, Allen Hackney, Jeff Hackney; and nine Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ted Painter officiating and interment will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. Mike Bledsoe, Mark Bledsoe, Keith Bledsoe, Floyd Bledsoe, Terry Lewis and Sean Lewis will serve as pall bears. The family will receive friends from 4-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home A special note of thanks and appreciation to Amedisys Hospice Care who were very compassionate and caring. Also a special note of appreciation to Christian Lewis, Moms neice, who has lovingly cared for mom for years especially since the passing of Dad this past August.
