Aunt Lillie. Not really my aunt, but this is how I thought of her. Mother to many, was our Aunt Lillie. I remember I was so scared and uneasy when I came back to help my parents. The second day I was back, I was outside filling momma's bird feeder.Aunt Lillie walked across the street and came to talk to me over the fence. She told me she was glad I had come back. She never knew how much that helped me. She and Uncle Woodrow would come over and sit on the porch and visit with mom & dad. When she broke her hip I would see her across the street walking in her yard. Knew she had to have been hurting but stubborn as she was she kept at it anyway. Always asked me how my mom was. That meant the world to me. Gave me her jacket which I still cherish. What a wonderful, funny, feisty woman she was! Spoke her mind but never did so with malice. That's our Aunt Lillie and I love her for the person she was. All I have left to say is:"Standing now before Him, the angels they gather around. There you are in white-a Holy Wedding Gown. Rays of joy stream now from your face. The Master say's Well Done...you've just won that long hard race" See you when I come home, lady. I love you! -Ellen McKenzie- Miss You
