Obituary of Buddy Lamar Dykes

Rev. Buddy L. Dykes, 71, of Soddy-Daisy went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 24, 2013. Reverend Dykes ministered for many years at several area churches including Hooker Church of God, Midway Baptist Church and Shady Grove Baptist Church. Dykes was preceded in death by parents, Grady and Lillie Dykes; son, Tony Dykes; grandson, Stevie Elrod. Survivors include wife of 53 years, Wanda Dykes; son, Buddy (Tammy) Dykes; daughters, Connie (Corky) Flerl, Theresa (Steve) Elrod of Soddy-Daisy; daughter-in-law, Lisa (Greeson) Dykes of Chickamauga, GA; brothers, Winfred Dykes of Rossville, GA., Bill and Jimmy Dykes of Trenton, GA; sisters, Lois Simmons of Trenton, GA., Joyce York of Athens, TN; seven grandchildren and seven great granddaughters. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Quillen Thurman and Rev. James Dotson officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 AM-2 PM and 4 PM -9 PM at the funeral home.
