Obituary of Wayne James Kent

Waymouth 'Wayne' James Kent, 79, of Soddy-Daisy went to be with his Heavenly Father on Saturday, November 27, 2010 at his home. Wayne was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an expert craftsman and woodworker as well as an avid trout fisherman. Wayne retired from Servomation Vending Company as a manger after many years of service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and an Army Korean War Veteran. Mr. Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ora Jane Kent; step-son, Aaron Kennedy and brother, Donald Kent. Survivors include his wife, Anna Kent of Soddy-Daisy; son, Roger Kent of Weaverville, N.C.; daughters, Brenda Arndt of Marshall, N.C.; Tonja Brannan of Acworth, GA and Teresa Swanger of Signal Mountain; brothers, Wilson Kent, Omar Kent, Grover Kent and Ronnie Kent, all of N.C.; sister, Janet Powell of Lenoir, N.C.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Roberson officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with military honors and Rev. Dwight Martin officiating the interment service. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
