A Memory I am so sorry to learn of Wayne's homegoing but so sure that home is where he has gone. I worked for him at the Macke Company at DuPont from 1969-71 when I was between 19-21 years old, young married with a small child. Wayne was in his late 30's, I think. We became friends quickly because he was such an easy person to talk with and always so kind. Then I was given a position with some (little) authority over my peers and got so proud of myself I needed an attitude adjustment. Wayne brought it to me in the form of a torn page from a magazine- I still carry it in my wallet today. I€™m including it for you €“ I€™M TIRED OF ALL THE EXPERTS Listen, Lord€¦.. I€™m tired of all the experts €“ of people who try to tell me how to raise my children, how to run my marriage, how to be a better person, how to save the world. I€™ve listened to them far too often, been intimidated by them too much. I have underestimated my own instincts and common sense €“ and You. I am going back to the Bible for some good old-fashioned guidance: €œHonor thy father and thy mother.€ €œBring up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it,€ €œLove thy neighbor as thyself.€ Yes, and the rest of the Ten Commandments, and a whole lot more. I€™m going to rediscover this long-neglected gold mine, God. I€™m going to see how it stacks up against the advice of today€™s so called experts. (And while I€™m at it, I€™m going to be a lot more careful about posing as an expert myself.) From the book, Who Am I God? by Marjorie Holmes Copyright ©1970 by Marjorie Holmes Mighell. This was the Wayne I knew. Recently divorced, missing his children who he talked about so much I felt I knew them €“ Roger and Brenda this or that was the beginning of many of our talks. I remember how happy he was when he found a new love. I called him for a reference and got the news about his Anna. Then several years later my own niece went to work for him at Servomation. How fun it was when they realized I had also worked for him and sharing some of the "vending" stories! She learned to love Wayne for the same reasons of most people. Heaven has gained, we have lost. But I know we will all be reunited someday soon. God bless you all as you suffer through letting him go. He was a truly humble and loving man. You will be in my prayers. Wanda J.
