God Bless the Leslie Family Just a word of encouragement to all the family members who feel left behind, you will reunite with this wonderful man at a later time. Until then may God bless all of you in this time loss. My late husband and I knew Russell for many years as they were in the same Union Craft, we did not see Russell much, but know what a wonderful person he was and will be dearly missed by all. Grandpa's House Going to Grandpa's house was always my favorite part of the year. Sometimes we would go during christmas. Sometimes it would be over the summer, many times over the 4th of July. Some of my favortie memories were in that old house with the swimming pool. When we turned off of the main road going to Grandma and Grandpas house, I remember me and Megan getting ancy and excited. I remember waiting in the back room on Christmas morning with almost unbearable anticipation, waiting for someone to tell us we could go open our presents. I remember swimming in the pool all morning and then going up to the kitchen and eating the little debbie snacks that grandma always kept in the cookie car. There was one time when we were swimming, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Grandpa dove into the pool. He scared us all pretty bad. He said he jumped into the pool from the roof of the garage....I'm still unsure if he was telling the truth or not. You could never tell with Grandpa. When I was probably 9 or 10 years old, I was outside one day in the yard with Grandpa when he saw some big ants on the pavement. He told me they were good to eat and without hesitation picked one up, plucked off its head and popped it in his mouth. At that point I was positive I had the coolest Grandpa ever.I loved going to buy fireworks with grandpa; it was one of the highlights of any trip. We would go and he would let me pick out some bottle rockets and black cats and he would always pick out a pack of the big fireworks. I loved His garage. I remember the way it smelled, the bows and fishing poles on the wall, that mounted javelina head, and the many tools he had. If it was broken Grandpa could fix it, and he was going to do it right. Grandpa was the best at telling stories and he had one for just about everything. I could sit for hours and listen to him tell stories about when he went to Africa or Australia; when he went hunting in Canada, or about a guy he once knew. Grandpa taught me how to love the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. My favorite memories of all were when Grandpa would take me fishing. He would tell me to go grab the poles and the tackle box and load up the truck. We would always stop at a gas station and pick up a tub of worms. I loved those days. Out of all of those years of grandpa taking me fishing, I probably only caught ten fish, and none of them were even big. But I guess what I loved most about those trips was being with Grandpa, riding shotgun on the way to the lake, and listening to stories of fishing spots so good it was impossible not to catch anything and fish so big they almost broke the pole. Those days were the best. Thank you Grandpa. I'll miss you. I love you.

Grandpa I can't adequately put to words all that Grandpa has been to me. He was the one who really taught me how to fish, how to hunt, how to change the oil in a car. He once trick me into thinking that he had eaten a rabbit dropping in order to track it better. He was pretty sly like that. I can't even count the number of times he pulled a prank on me. He was a funny, very loving grandpa. I remember one year when Jordan, Grandma, Grandpa and I went to stay in Canada for a trip. I saw a John DEERE tractor in a garage and decided to prank him for a change. Jordan and I ran into the trailer yelling "A Deere, a Deere grandpa, get your camera there's a huge deer outside!!" Grandpa put down the tackle box he was fixing and scrambled around for his camera. He kept urging him on, and when he found it, we all sneaked down to where the tractor was. We kept stressing the fact that it was the biggest deer we had ever seen. He took one look at that tractor, shook his head, and just walked away. He was NOT amused, but grandma laughed so hard she started crying! Eventually even Grandpa admitted that it was a very nice prank. That trip was one of my favorite vacations ever. I love you Grandpa. You taught me so much and I will always think of you. Your heart and humor still lives with us.

Russ Leslie I worked on several sites with Russ over the years, he knew his job well and did it with great pride. Russ was well liked with all those that knew him and worked with him and will be missed greatly. He had a way with words as well as he could tell stories of work situations and of his hunting adventures that were entertaining and captured ones attention. Every now and then, Russ would put on a serious face and spin a tale that would draw one into his story only to find out that he was joking in the end. Russ was also a humble man as he would help any that would ask and did so without bringing attention to himself. The world needs more people like Russ.

Grandpa and Me One of the most special times I've had with Grandpa was when I visited in August 2006. I flew out before the semester started for a week. Grandma was still working and luckily Grandpa had that whole week off from work. That was pretty rare...him being off the whole visit. I would get up early (a couple of times) and go walking with him. He taught me how to shoot a pistol, we went on drives, went to the IMAX, got icecream, and would just sit on the porch. We went fishing in a little canoe on a pond. Grandpa looked all over that canoe and killed every single spider for me. :) We went to Look out mountain and Grandpa laughed at Grandma and me when we got scared going down the incline. I'm so glad of that time together. I have so many great memories of an amazing Grandpa. I know he loved me and I love him. I'm glad he met my daughter Claire. I wish he could have seen my son, Jack Allen, but I am going to make sure that my son will hear lots of stories about one of the men he is named after. I love you Grandpa!!

My Mentor Russ was my mentor when we both worked as field consultants. I found that even after I left the company I felt drawn to keep in touch with him. I have always considered him one of my closest friends and they are few. I will miss him dearly.

We can never be separated from those we love, because God leaves us with memories to hold and love that doesn't pass away. And in time, we realize that our loved one lives on not only in a home beyond the setting sun but within our hearts. Our hearts are heavy with sorrow but we will always cherish the sweet memories. Our Thoughts and Prayers are with you.

Russ Leslie I was privileged to have worked alongside of Russ for many years and was able to share a campfire or two during our hunting excursions. Over the years we shared numerous stories of Hunts that we experienced and our Dreams of Big Elk and Deer that seemed to have eluded us. Russ had many plans for the future and one was to spend time with Family in the outdoors pursuing happiness. Russ & I embrace the same passion for the outdoors and that€™s the bond that kept us friends over the last decade or so and for that Russ will be truly missed, I have lost a good friend & fellow outdoor enthusiast.... I only hope Heaven has plenty of Big Elk!
