Dear Bruce, Cortney, Jeremy, Bruce Jr. and family, My heart aches for missing Jan, as I know yours is broken. She has been such an important part of my life for so long she became my sister. I already miss the emails and calls and lunch dates we will never share again. I would like to thank you all for sharing her with me and for allowing me and Gerald to be a part of your lives. My love and prayers and thoughts are with each of you as you try to endure her leaving, and as you try to continue without her. She is missed and loved greatly. Always with love, Sandi and Gerald

My sincere condolences to Jan's family. I know you will miss her greatly, as will I and her many other friends and readers. She had a wry sense of humor, a compassionate heart, and a strong sense of justice. Throughout her battle with cancer over the past few years, she seldom complained but continued life without coddling herself, including making head scarves (of her own design) for female chemo patients, which she gave away. Jan was brilliant, creative, brave, funny, and too young to die. Jan, I will miss you. I will remember you. Go with God.

I knew Jan from the Scenic City Authors group and was privileged to gain encouragement and knowledge about the writer's journey. She was a lovely lady filled with passion and a love of words and those who spend their lives telling the stories within them. Her friends and family will be in my prayers. May the God of grace and mercy wrap you in his loving arms during this time of grief and may you know his peace and comfort.

Dear Bruce, Cortney, Jeremy, Bruce Jr and Jan's beloved grandchildren, There are no words to express how sorry I am for your loss. Jan was such a blessing in my life and I know in yours as well. Her strength, courage, and intelligence combined with her compassionate, no nonsense approach to life is an inspiration to us all. Jan's unfailing friendship taught me the true meaning of sisterhood and I am forever grateful to have called her my dear friend. I met Jan through the Scenic City Author's group. It was easy to see her passion for writing and her smile lit up our meetings, when she was able to attend. My prayers are for her family and friends and I ask God to bless them with His everlasting and compassionate love.
