You are in my thoughts and prayers. I am sad to hear of John's death. I can only imagine how hard this is after he has received the gift of a 2nd chance by his granddaughter. He was a great man. He helped me make 3 mission trips and my life is enriched for it!! Lots of love, prayers, Margaret Foster (Mayfield)

We are sorry to hear that John Mitchell has passed away. He was an inspiration to our daughter, Mary Baggett, who is hearing impaired and was a student at Red Bank High School, in which Mr. Mitchell was an interpreter for. John was excellent with deaf and hearing impaired students and he had a unique way in communicating with them. Mr. Mitchell will be greatly missed!

Some of my earliest memories are of Johnny and me playing at daddy's garage when I was 6 or 7 years old. He was a good guy then as he was his entire life. I can only smile when I think of the role model he must have been to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Nancy, Jan, Bill and families I share in your sadness with a heavy heart.

Our sincere love and sympathy goes out to the entire Mitchell family during the time of their great loss. We will remember John as an encourager and how he inspired people to reach out and step out of their comfort zone. In doing so, this enabled so many to grow as a Christian and become a more caring human being. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

John You were a good man, a good friend, you will be missed. I know you are in a better place but much too young for my thinking. When we were in High school we never thought of life ending, just beginning and here we are so quickly and it's over. See you on the other side old friend.

Thoughts & prayers are with you all. I remember John encouraging me towards mission work as a kid and took me to Jamaica with him when I was just out of high school. What a great and life-changing experience that was! He got Salisbury and I through customs when the officials started hastling us about our luggage... by pulling out a Cracker Barrel receipt he conveniently had in his pocket from breakfast that morning. And Nancy, I got to work alongside you in my first ministry experience at Hixson a few years later... you were a joy to work with and were always so dedicated to the precious kiddoes at Hixson. Blessings to you... we are thinking of you all.
