Dorothy A. 'Dodie' Rogers, 54, of Hixson passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009. Dodie was employed with Hamilton County Sheriff's Department as a School Patrol Officer for over ten years. She was a member at Sequoyah Baptist Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her parents, Homer Abrams and Mary Kay Jenks and brothers, Donald and Larry Abrams. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Rogers and sons, Kyle Rogers and Justin Rogers, all of Hixson; daughter, Crystal Rogers of Cleveland, sisters, Linda Carver of Virginia; Shirley Brown of Alabama; Cookie Kirby of Kentucky and Sandy Carney of Nashville, TN and two grandsons. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 28, 2009 in the Legacy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Stancil and Rev. Ellis Chasteen officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Hamilton County Sheriff's Department serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 1:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.
