Robin T. Gann, Age 61, born March 21, 1947 of Chattanooga was called to be with the Lord on September 21, 2008. He was preceded in death by parents, Glenn and Ellen Gann. Robin is survived by his loving wife Deborah, brother David, sister Glenda, nieces, nephews and other family members as well as many, many friends. Robin graduated from Red Bank High School in 1965 and Cleveland State in 1977 with an A.S. degree in Criminal Justice. Robin enlisted in the US Navy in 1968, attended Boot Camp in Orlando, Fl, and served aboard the destroyer USS Little Rock on a European tour prior to becoming a member of the Sea Bees as a heavy equipment operator. Robin was stationed at Subic Bay, Philippines and Gulfport, Mississippi. Receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1972, Robin later joined the US Navy Reserve. He received the Navy Achievement Medal, served in Operation Desert Storm, and attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer prior to retiring in 1996. Robin was employed by DuPont for 4 years prior to becoming employed by TVA in 1977 where he retired in 2004 as a TVA Federal Law Enforcement Officer after 27 years of dedicated service. Robin loved life to the fullest and was an extremely fun-loving person who never met a stranger. He and his loving wife enjoyed many pets, whether cats or dogs. They always have food for strays, a couple of which have found a home with Robin and Deborah. Robin had a passion for riding his Harley and often took trips to bike events such as Daytona and Sturgis, South Dakota and riding with friends. Additionally, Robin enjoyed working out at the gym, golfing, darting and hanging out with friends. Robin was a proud member of several organizations; the Daisy Lodge No. 706, F.&A.M., The American Legion, National Rifle Association, Blue Knights International Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, American Motorcyclist Association, Fleet Reserve Association, and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4848. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (pancan.org) or The Hospice of Chattanooga Foundation, P.O. Box 19269 Chattanooga, Tennessee 37415 Special thanks to family and friends, Hamp and Joy, Mark and Elaine, Doug and Lee, Joe and Chris, Pastor Barry Hildebrandt, and the nurses and staff from Hospice of Chattanooga as well as the many special friends who visited and provided love and support during Robin's illness. A celebration of Robin's life will be held Tuesday, September 23, 2008 from 2:00 PM -8:00 PM at the Large Pavilion at Camp Columbus located at 8601 Camp Columbus Road, Hixson, TN 37343. Every friend, family member, associate and acquaintance of Robin and Deborah are invited to join in our celebration.
