Obituary of Tommy J. Dalton

Please share a memory of Tommy to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Saturday morning, August 23, 2008 Tommy Dalton, age 75 was called home to start his new life with his Heavenly Father. He was born on April 17, 1933 and was such an awesome loving person which will be missed by us all. He had many accomplishments in his life. He retired from South Central Bell after 37 years of service and was one of the pioneers who started Tom. T. Bethel Bible Benefit. He was a long time member of Creeks Bend Golf course and held numerous positions in his church (Dallas Bay Baptist). Dad loved his church family so much and was looking forward to getting back to worship. One of his favorite duties was to be a greeter on Sunday mornings. His greatest accomplishment was the day he took the love of his life, June Perkins to be his wife while in school at Carson Newman College. Dad was the co-captain of the football team. They married on February 9, 1955. Out of their 53 year marriage they had two daughters and 3 granddaughters. Dad was so proud of all his girls. We will miss him deeply but we know we will see him again in heaven. He is survived by his wife, June Dalton; daughters, Diane (Tommy) White; Cindy (Mike) Stiles and granddaughters, Brittney (Andrew) Smith; Cara Stiles and Lyndsey Stiles. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Monday, August 25, 2008 at Dallas Bay Baptist Church with Dr. Ken Duggan and Dr. David McNabb officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park with Tommy Barnes, Randy Rawiszer, Jack Shipman, Larry Williams, Lon Ellis and Jesse Simmons serving as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be The GateKeepers Sunday School Class and special friends Kendall Morgan, Paul Hammontaller, Bill Powell, Tunney Hamlin, Terrell Fugate and Dr. Bob Kelley. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the time of the service at the church.
