David Lamar Mathis, 54, of Chattanooga passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 in an area hospital. He was preceded in death by his father, Lamar Mathis and mother, Lorene Elder. Survivors include his daughters, Melissa Howe of East Ridge and Paige Mathis Ann Arbor, MI; sister, Karen Sue Belcher of Chattanooga. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 14, 2008 in Hamilton Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Nathan Chandler officiating. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
