Bessie Lou Freeman, 84, of Hixson passed away Monday, July 14, 2008 at her residence. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and active in the Soul Winners Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Freeman; daughter, Mary Smith; son, Junior Eugene Freeman; brothers, Carl, Howard, Clarence, Sam, and Frank; sisters, Ethel, Violet, and Beulah Mae. Survivors include her daughters, Ruby (Ronald) Boren of Hixson; Sherrie (Keith) Freeman of Dacula, GA; brothers, Herbert Belcher of Tellico Plains, TN, Wilson Belcher of Greenville, TN, and Joe Belcher of Defunak Springs, FL; sister, Bonnie Gourley of Maryville, TN; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at Bethel Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Messer and Rev. Billy Dean officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery on Signal Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6-9 P.M. on Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to Bethel Baptist Church, 632 Lullwater Road, Chattanooga, TN 37405.
