Mrs. Jessie Sensaboy Henderson, 92, of Conway, and formerly of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Sunday evening, June 22, 2008 at Conway Medical Center, Conway, S.C. She was born January 14, 1916 in Harriman, Tennessee, and graduated from the Baroness Erlanger Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Henderson started her nursing career as a private duty nurse and later served at the Tennessee Chest Disease Hospital and the Moccassin Bend Psychiatric Hospital. She was listed on the Who's Who list for her exceptional leadership abilities as the Director of Nursing, Winston Building, Chronic Care Unit of the Moccassin Bend Hospital. Mrs. Henderson was a receiptant of the Susan B. Anthony Award from the National Organization of Women and later retired in 1987. Mrs. Henderson was a former member of the Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tenn., where she taught the Junior A Sunday School class and served as the director of the PTA for the Tennessee Temple Grammar School. She was predeceased by her husband, John R. Henderson, who died in 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Francis ''Fran'' H. Polic and her husband, Petar M., of Myrtle Beach, and Jessie D. Henderson of Conway; two grandchildren, Kristi P. Williams and her husband, Michael G., of Charleston, and Mark J. Polic and his wife, Erin J., of Myrtle Beach; a great-grandson, Seth L. Polic of Myrtle Beach; and a sister-in-law, Helly Polich of Myrtle Beach. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2008 in the Lakewood Memory Gardens.
