Obituary of Margaret Joyce Brown

Margaret R. Brown, 94 of Hixson and a former longtime resident of Signal Mountain passed way Friday, May 2, 2008 in a hospital in Tullahoma, TN. She retired from Sears at Northgate Mall after many years of service. Mrs. Brown was a member of Signal Mountain Baptist Church for 58 years, where she spent several years working with young people in the church. She had been active in many Signal Mountain civic and garden clubs. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. Reid Brown, brother, Jess Robinson, grandson, Mike Killingsworth and son-in-law, David Cummins. Survivors include her daughter, Elaine Cummins of Hixson; son, Steve (Linda) Brown of Soddy-Daisy; grandsons, Keith, Tony and Scott Brown, all of the Chattanooga Area; granddaughter, Debbie (Brian) Wheeler of Tullahoma, TN; brother, Charles (Barbara) Roberson of Orange Park, FL; sisters, Helen Searcy of Rock Hill, SC and Betty Schultz of Knoxville, TN; three great-granddaughters, two great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sally Ensley officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00-6:00 PM Sunday and from Noon until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
