Obituary of Michael W. Kwasnik

Michael W. Kwasnik, Sr., (Mickey, Dad, Granddaddy, Mr. Mike) brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, cousin, leader and friend peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 16.
Born August 15, 1935 to Joe and Jean Edelstein Kwasnik in Queens N.Y. and raised in Brooklyn, he was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Helen Hamilton Hodge Kwasnik and son in law Carl Logan. Survived by his children Gigi (Carl) Logan, Mickey (Nancy) Kwasnik, Robert (Bobbie) Kwasnik, Meg (Jenks) Parker & Nikki (Steve) Lively; Grandchildren Mary (William) Tepper, Laura (Russ) Wilburn, Catherine Logan, Forrest Willing, Ashby Graham, Wells Parker, Simon Parker and Paige Hester. Great grandchildren Anne Carter Tepper, Cate Tepper, Browning Tepper and Lawson Wilburn. Sister Joan (Karl) Heidenreich and Brother Frank Cascio; Nephew Karl (Kandy) Heidenreich, Niece Kerry (Glenn) Staudigel; Cousins Bill (Terri) Finn, Barbara (Tom) Lodes and Kathleen Eremin.
A graduate of Brooklyn Technical High, he earned a BS from Georgia Tech and an MBA from the University of Tennessee. During this time he was an intern at Radio City Music Hall, a member of the Brooklyn Dodgers farm team, a track letterman at Ga. Tech and a member of the Air Force ROTC. After graduation, he was employed at Cavalier Corporation where he was instrumental in designing Coca-Cola bottling dispensers, as well as playing on softball and bowling teams and coaching in Dixie Youth Baseball which was highlighted by the Coca-Cola team winning the 1966 championship. He then worked with TVA and the Sequatchie Valley Development Association to create and become the Founder, past president and CEO of Dunlap Industries for the last forty-eight years.
He loved singing and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepard’s choir for years. The family would like to extend special thanks to Doctors Johnson, Kimsey & Dubeck and their staff for their years of fighting the good fight with him.
Visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. (EST) with services following at 3:00 p.m. (EST), will be held at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Lookout Mountain, TN., and Saturday November 22.
