I am sorry about the passing of Jim before I had a chance to talk to or see him again. I just found out when trying to locate him about his passing. He and I were close friends when we attended East Ridge Jr. High and I had a lot of great memories with him. I have lived away from Chattanooga since 1976 and with most childhood friends , you loose touch as time passes while living life. To Jim's family, especially his cousin Linda, I want to express that Jim was a very good person and he will always be remembered fondly by me. Mike Finney (class of 1965- McCallie)

To Mr. Farley I didn't know you, but I know your little girl. Let me just say that you raised an amazing young woman. I know it must have been hard for you to leave her with so much left undone. No one can replace you or a father's love, but my promise to you is that I will always be there for her. My family and I will "step up" and be her family away from home, here, in Charleston. So, rest in peace and know that Amanda will always be taken care of. To Amanda I wish I could make it all better. I wish I could take your pain and sadness away. I am always here for you and I love you. To Mrs. Farley I am so sorry for your loss. I want you to know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. Susan and Bill Fawcett Charleston, SC

Amanda and Family, I am sooo sorry for your loss! Amanda, I didn't know your Dad, but if you're any indication of what kind of man he was, then he must've been a great person. I wish you and your family perseverance as you navigate this incomprehensibly difficult loss. Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you, Amanda. Kathy, I am so sorry about the loss of your brother. I can only imagine how hard this must be at this time of year, but remember that our Saviour is with you and holds you in his arms. He had a plan for Jim and His plan is perfect. Jim is in a much better place and is without pain or sorrow. Our goal is to live a life so that one day we will be with him forever. Take care my friend and remember that I love you! Pat Rose

Dear Claudia & Amanda. We will sorely miss Jim and his kind heart and generous spirit. I will always remember his bright smile and his friendly countenance. Not many men could compare to his devotion to his family and those close to him. I would like to say he blessed our family just by knowing him, truly a gift from above. He had a way about him that made strangers feel welcome and acquaintances feel like family. God grant your family peace at this time and blessings of encouragement and direction. You will continue to be in my prayers, lots of love. Jo

Kathy/Robert and family, It has been too many years since I have seen any of you and it filled my heart with sadness to hear of Jim's passing. Through the years (since Mawmaw died I think) we have drifted apart, but no one can take away the memories of Jim as a child when we played and laughed together. Thoughts of love and prayers to of comfort are yours today. With love, Sandra

I'm so sorry to hear of Jim's death. I didn't know he was sick and actually lost contact with him years ago. We currently live in Knoxville and I was shocked to see his name in the paper. I have fond memories of Jim and he was a wonderful person. He had a great personality and I know he loved his family. I worked with Jim a number of years ago and always enjoyed being around him. My sincere condolences to the family. He will surely be missed.

I read of Jim's passing late. My thoughts and sympathy are extended to you at this sad time. I only saw Jim a few times, the last being at Memorial last summer. He indeed seemed to be a gentle person. I knew he was a Tennessee fan-particularly when Rozanne and I were at your home a few years ago on Thanksgiving (I think) watching football. Regards.
