Franklin "Gene” Eugene Barbee, 68, of Soddy-Daisy, a loving husband, father and friend, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2007 in an area hospital. Gene retired from Hamilton County Highway Department. He was a member of Sequoyah Church of God and Hixson Masonic Lodge #727 F&AM. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Pauline Barbee He is survived by his wife, Pauline "Polly” Barbee; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and JoAnn Barbee of Hixson; daughter, Pam Niznick of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Allene (Tommy) Love of Soddy-Daisy; granddaughter, Aleece Barbee of Hixson; Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Larry Lindsey officiating. Entombment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday and from 4-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association, 211 Center Park Drive Suite 3010, Knoxville, TN 37922 Arrangements are by Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
