Norma Higgins Weller, 71, of Soddy-Daisy passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 in an area hospital. Mrs. Weller retired from IBEW after 25 years of service and was the owner of Best Bookkeeping for many years. She was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and O.E.S. Mayflower Chapter #141. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late, Coy and Betha Higgins; brother, Arthur Higgins; and sister, June Stevens.
Survivors include her son, David Cox of Chattanooga; daughters, Karen Case of East Ridge and Danelle Ables of Soddy-Daisy; brothers, Earl and Charles Higgins of Texas; sisters, Betty Gann of Soddy-Daisy, Margaret Griffith and Linda Masters, both of Decatur, TN, Joyce Miller of Murfreesboro, TN and Judy May of Soddy-Daisy; grandchildren, Amber Cox, Chad Massengale, Devon Snyder, Jeremy Shaw, Jennifer Ellis and Lindsey Cox ; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2007 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ted Painter, Rev. Charles Robertson and Brother Charles Higgins officiating. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5-9 P.M. Sunday, April 8, 2007, from 1-9 P.M. Monday, April 9, 2007 and from 11 A.M. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, 850 Fort Wood St. Chattanooga, TN 37403.
