Obituary of B.W. Harding

B.W. Harding, 81, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2006 at his Hixson residence. Born and raised in Hixson along with his 6 sisters, he was a very proud veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy as a Gunners Mate-3rd Class. He was of the Baptist Faith. B.W. was the owner of the Acme Television Repair Shop, first in the East Chattanooga area and later moving to the Hixson/Dallas Bay area in the 1950’s thru 1980’s. Upon retiring he was employed by AAA Courier and later by Express Shuttle until the age of 79. This gentle soul was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Maggie Nelson Harding and 4 sisters, all of Hixson. Survivors include loving sisters, Georgia Thomas of Soddy-Daisy and Dolly Arrwood of Hixson; sons, Garry (Carolyn) Harding of Hixson, Dan C. (Bonna) Burkhart of Harrison and daughter Sherry (Gary) Harding Hutton of Hixson. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 27, 2006 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Dividing Ridge Church of God Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 3-8 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2006 and from 1:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday.
