V. Edythe (Edie) Harris, 66, of Soddy Daisy, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 9, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Harris was a well-known pianist and music teacher, having played in many area churches and having taught many people throughout the Chattanooga area. She was born December 21, 1939 in Summerville, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Joseph Benjamin (Benny) Harris; and her parents, Rev. William Henry and Carol Harrison of Signal Mountain. Survivors include her devoted husband of 48 years, Alvin E. Harris; daughter, Laura Carol (Wayne) Taylor, Hixson; son, Brad (Beth) Harris, Dayton and four grandchildren, Hannah and Katie Harris and Rodney and Matthew Taylor. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home or Bethel Bible Village. Those wishing may share their thoughts and memories at www.legacyfuneralhome.com A memorial service will be held at 3:30 PM Sunday in the chapel with Rev. Paul Forgey, Rev. Kenneth Bolton and Rev. Claude Pendergrass officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 - 3:30 PM Sunday at Legacy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8911 Dallas Hollow Road, Soddy Daisy, 843-2525.
