Obituary of Syble Ann Ooten

Syble Ann Ooten, 78, of Soddy-Daisy passed away on Friday, October 10, 2014. Mrs. Ooten was a 1954 Chattanooga High School graduate. She retired from Norfolk Southern Corporation. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church and Truth Seekers Sunday School Class. She served as a ZBA Commissioner for Soddy Daisy. She was 2007 Grand Martha in Tennessee, Order of the Eastern Star; Past Matron of Daisy OES Chapter; LOSNA Asebi Court Clowns and Shrine Helping Hands She was preceded in death by husband of 45 years, Robert Smith, Sr. ; father, John B Feagans, mother, Opal Huggins Keedy, stepfather, Herbert Keedy, Sr.; stepbrother, Edwin Keedy She is survived by husband, James D. Ooten of twelve years; children: Robert (Kathy) Smith, St. Louis; Diann (Gary) Sivley, Signal Mountain; Julia (Tammy) Smith, Napa California; Terry Smith, Asheville, NC. Grandchildren: Robby, Logan, Sam, and Jinnie Smith, Taylor Sivley, Allison Smith. Great-grand-children: Austin , Ashley , Kyle, Liam and Elizabeth Rose. Stepchildren: Don (Sabrina) Ooten, Mark Ooten, six step-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren; sister: Joyce (Marty) Hahn, New Jersey; brother: Herbert (Dee) Keedy, McDonald, TN. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-7 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
