Betty Jo McDougale, 86, of Chattanooga passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2017 surrounded by her family. Mrs. McDougale retired from the Hamilton County Health Department after many years of service. She also worked as office supervisor at the DUI Defensive Driving School Catoosa and as a color artist at Olan Mills and Cinciola Studios. Her husband, Rex E. McDougale preceded her in death. Survivors include her son, Raymond L. (Therese) Bowman; daughters, Linda Bowman (Harold) Westbrook and Deanna (Steven) Taylor; grandchildren, Nikki Chandler, Daniel Roper, Carissa Donges, Kane Bowman, Shane Taylor, Star Waddell, Nicole Deruiter and Vincent Taylor; fourteen great-grandchildren; special friend, Murphy Ledbetter. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2017 in the W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home chapel, 555 West Cloud Springs Road Fort Oglethorpe, GA 30742. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Wilson funeral home.
