Family keep asking Jehovah to help you to control your emotions and to give you peace, and gradually you will feel calmer. Remember that the Bible explains that ‘unexpected events’ can befall any one of us. Since God cannot lie, be convinced that you will see Jean again in the resurrection.”—Ecclesiastes 9:11; John 11:25; Titus 1:2. .....Jw.org

I'm so sorry for the loss of your love one. Death is never easy and it brings great sorrow. But know that the "God of tender mercies, and the God of all comfort" will help you endure this sad time. 2 Corinthians 1:3, 4.

Wanting so bad to be there for you Rob, as Jeanie was for me. Tabitha has been having some medical issues and I need to attend to her. Your wife was one in a million, and she welcome us (new neighbors) with open arms. Always had the intention to come have a cup of tea with her, but life has been very busy. You always think you have tomorrow, so sorry I waited too long. Just know you two were the best neighbors on Angela Lane. Missing seeing you in the yard, Love the Beatys and Payne (Dana, and David Beaty, Tabitha and Ronnie Payne, also Heather Quails Haswell.

There are no words to describe the "wonderfulness" of Aunt Jeanie. As we traveled and were stationed all over the world, we could always count on the most wonderful Birthday cards, and HUGE hugs, smiles and laughter whenever we were back in the States. Warm memories of being at Granny's house in Decatur with all of our cousins, catching fireflies in the front yard, and the big family meals in Granny's basement. And always...Aunt Jeanie with her tiny voice and sparkly personality making even washing the dishes fun. She and Uncle Rob were there when we lost our mother (her sister), and then our dad. The outpouring of love and support that Aunt Jeanie showed all the Potter kids, as she was determined to help us navigate the loss, and be the beacon in the dark for us, was so typical of who she was. Loving, caring, supporting...and funny. We know all about our cousins and relatives because Jeanie wrote the BEST letters, cards, emails...and spared no detail. And always including something precious and dear about Uncle Rob...."My groom is going to help me lift something out of the cabinet...My darling Rob is waiting for me, so I must run now...What would I do without my partner in crime". What role models they have always been for what love is really all about. While that light is gone, the memories will live forever, bright and clear, for all who were blessed to know and love her. With my love, prayers, and deepest sympathies, Patty Potter Shaddox

When our family moved to Decatur from Iowa in 1943, Mom & Dad agreed that Riverside would be our church. I was in Mrs. Carlson's SS class of 11 year old girls. Jeannie was also in that class. We soon became friends and sat together not only in SS but also in church. I remember well, about a year later when I was 12 in a Fall Revival, sitting on the end of the 3rd row with Jeannie beside me there at Riverside in it's big auditorium, knowing I had to respond to what I'd been learning about what the Lord Jesus had done for me. I took Jeannie's hand and said "Please, go with me" - and of course she did. There in the prayer room, with Mrs. Carlson and a open Bible, we knelt and I prayed to receive Christ. No doubt, Jeannie had been praying for me that I too would trust the Savior, as she had already done. What a sweet Christian friend who later became my dear sister-in-law and my brother Rob's "sweetie" for life. She'll be waiting for us ! Thanking the Lord Jesus for his loving provision for each of us for time and eternity.

To all family and friends of Mrs. Jennings, I am so sorry for your loss. There is nothing that can compare to the pain of losing someone you love in death. But you can be assured that God understands your pain and he offers us much comfort and a wonderful hope for the future through his word, the Bible. At John 5:28,29 God promises that we will be able to see our loved ones again! And he also promises that we will soon live in a world free of tears, pain, sickness, and death (Revelation 21:3,4). That is such an outstanding hope for us all; we can put our full faith and confidence in those promises. I know this does not by any means alleviate you of the pain you feel at this time, but it is my hope that it can bring you some comfort during this difficult time. Again, I am so sorry for your loss and send my deepest sympathy.

Sandy Gaston Over the years, Aunt Jeanie has sent a couple of sweet letters to me. In one letter, she told me that Uncle Rob had been working in the paint department at Walmart. After a few years of working in his paint department career, he was asked if he wanted to be a greeter. In his older years, he replied that he was too young to be a greeter. Aunt Jeanie was a very caring person. When I last spoke with her, she invited me to her home to see the beauty of Chattanooga. I regret that I did not go see her and Uncle Rob. However, I am sure that I will see her someday in heaven. May God bless all that will miss her.

A wonderful memory of being in Granny Crystal’s basement, baking cookies and doughnuts with Aunt Jeanie and all those that gathered during our visits from military assignments. Aunt Jeanie always made sure that we ( my siblings, Jack, Patty, Sara ) had a place in their heart and that place was secure, even though we lived in different States. There was no time and distance in the love and acceptance from her and Uncle Rob. Her blessings are many, and there are enough to go around for every single member in this large, unique family that will walk out over the course of a lifetime. A life well lived and so many cherished memories, With love from our family to yours in this time of loss, Sue (Potter) Sparger Texas
