Obituary of Wallace Gibson

Wallace "Neal" Gibson III, 48, of Lookout Mountain, TN, passed away Sunday, August 6th, 2017. Born in Arlington, TX on January 30th, 1969, Neal was considered to be larger than life by anyone who had ever met him. He was adored by countless as a Christian, as a youth sports coach, and as a friend. There was always a contagious grin on his face, and he was well-known for going out of his way to help out anyone or to make a good time out of any occasion. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master's degree in Business from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Neal gained tremendous knowledge and experience working as a Product Design Engineer Manager. Neal most recently was employed at the Nissan Motor Company as a Quality Control Manager in Decherd, TN. He was also a devoted member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years, Angie Phillips Gibson, and their two children: Emma Kate Gibson and Wallace Neal Gibson IV, his parents, Wallace Neal Gibson II and Sara Jane Gibson, siblings Teresa Gibson Hermann (sons Cory Thomas Wilhoit, Kobe Gibson Hermann, and Cade Hermann) and Eric William Gibson (wife Melissa Walker Gibson, daughter Lillian Jane Gibson, and son Graham Walker Gibson). His mother-in-law Charlene Phillips, father-in law Homer Phillips, sister-in-law Lisa Weaver (husband Anthony Weaver and daughter Isabella Terc), his sister-in-law Rachel Phillips (daughters Abigail Laymon and Natalie Phillips and son Lucas Phillips), his brother-in-law Eric Phillips, his sister-in-law Hailey Johnson. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 10th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church, with a Memorial Service to follow.
