Obituary of Louise Carter

Louise “Lou” Hamilton Crayton Carter, 70, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Julian and Johny Crayton. Lou was a teacher in Walker and Gwinnett Counties for numerous years. She enjoyed volunteering with the Red Cross and was a ham radio operator. She is survived by her husband, Peyton Carter; sons, Crayton Carter and Lea Carter, all of Chattanooga; sister, Nan (Bill) Gray of Columbia, S.C.; brother-in-laws, Hon. Bill (Wiki) Carter, Jack (Betty) Carter and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at Church of the Good Shepherd, 211 Franklin Road, Lookout Mountain, TN on Monday, July 29th at 3pm with the Reverend Robert Childers officiating. Interment will follow in the church’s Harriet Caldwell Memorial Garden. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 28th from 2-5 at the funeral home and on Monday in the church’s Talbird Hall one hour prior to the service.
