Obituary of Johnny Alfred Cody

Johnny Alfred Cody, 69, a life-long resident of Lookout Valley was born March 3, 1948 and passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on July 17, 2017. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lura Cody, father, Alfred Cody, sister Patsy Massengale and grand-daughter Ashley Cody. Johnny was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1966, a Vietnam-Era veteran and retired journeyman electrician with the local IBEW 175. He is survived by his three sons Mark Cody, Bryan (Laurie) Cody and Brad (Brooke) Cody, six grandchildren: Meghan, Zachary, Macie, Kendell, Jillian and Evan and 2 great grandchildren Ellie and Michael. The Cody family would like to extend its warmest appreciation to Hearth Hospice as well as his private care takers Maudie, Mary and Joanne for their dedication to his comfort and our mourning. Visitation is scheduled for 2-6 PM on Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Wann Funeral Home in St. Elmo. A graveside services will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery pavilion at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 24, 2017. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Johnny’s memory be made to Hearth Hospice 2425 Keith Street NW Cleveland TN 37311.
