Lamar "Bud" Ray, 71, of Chattanooga went to be with Jesus our Lord on July 19, 2014. He was born to John and Bessie Ray on January 16, 1943 in Dalton, Georgia. He was a resident of Chattanooga for the last 15 years and lived in California for 27 years with his wife Penny Lee Ray who proceeded him in death. Survivors include his wife Carolyn Foy Gentry; his son, Lamar Ray Jr.; daughters, Lauralee Hargreaves and Angela Ritter; 8 grandchildren, Raylene, David, Ricky, John, Ian, Samatha, Jesse and Grace, 3 great grandchilderen, Joshua, Jacob and Aurora, all of California. He was known as a character who always made people laugh, he will be missed by family, friends and acquaintences. Services will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
