Milton W. McDonald, 90, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, June 27, 2014. Mr. McDonald was born in St. Elmo in 1924 to the late James S. and Nettie H. McDonald. He received his Bachelor's degree in Business in 1948 from University of Chattanooga. He was a WWII Veteran and served 42 months in CBI as a member of the 181st Signal Repair Battalion. Mr. McDonald retired from Combustion Engineering with 33 years of service. He was a member of St. Elmo Avenue Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church Chickamauga. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Nell Millican McDonald; brothers, J.S. and Robert McDonald and grandson, Thomas W. Snow. Survivors include his son, Tim (Janelle) McDonald; daughter, Beth (Kenneth) Snow; grandchildren, Becky (Chris) Jackson, Mac Snow, Gina Snow, Betsy (Mitch) Barton and Jay McDonald; step-grandson, Howard Hixson; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Tyler and Marida "The Baby" Jackson; sisters, Mary McDonald and Elizabeth Close. Graveside services and interment will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 30th at Forest Hills Cemetery with Rev. Donald Givens officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until 11:30am at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Chattanooga-Chickamauga National Park at www.nps.gov.
