Obituary of Daniel L. Scannell

Daniel L. "Dan" Scannell passed away peacefully at his home on February 2, 2017. Dan was born and raised in Wilmington, DE. In World War II he served 2 1/2 years in North Africa, Sicily and Italy.
He graduated from the University of Delaware with a degree in Electrical Engineering. In 1951 he married Helen Butler. Dan was transferred by DuPont to Chattanooga in 1965 and he retired in 1982.
He is survived by his three children: Cheryl "Cherie" (Foster) Yates of Chattanooga,TN, Dan (Jen) Scannell of Burlington, MA, Dianne (Charles) Sterchi of Sale Creek, TN, five grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
A private graveside service with military honors will be held in the Hamilton County Memorial Park Cemetery, Soddy Daisy, TN .
