Dalphine Newby , 86, of Soddy-Daisy went home to be with The Lord on Friday, January 13, 2017. She was an avid animal lover and loved her family dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ardell and Ethel Johnson; husband, Dallas Newby; brother, Alvin Johnson; and sisters, Marjorie Hutcheson and Geraldine Hutcheson Her survivors include her niece, Gail H. Nunley; great niece, Kristi Berry (James); great great nephew, Noah Berry. She was retired from Landreth Mfg Co. She was a member of Daisy Order of the Eastern Star #328 where she was a member and Past Matron of Asebi Court #36 L.O.S.N.A. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2017 in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Chris Schmeichel officiating. An Order of the Eastern Star service will follow. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Garden in Hixson with James Berry, Austin Horner, Jordan Holbert, Jeff Moore, Shawn Holbert, and Geno Shipley serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 2-6 PM Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Humane Educational Society.
