GOODBYE, FOR NOW There is a day far fairer So I've heard the psalmist say A land where pain and sorrow Is forever held at bay This morning as I woke to find You were no longer here The sorrow eased to peace filled thoughts Knowing you've found a solace there Your presence here among us The friendships that you groomed The simple ways about you In our minds forever loom The pleasure that you garnered From nature all around Each feathered creature's name you knew To the wildflowers that abound I know that heaven is a special place A reward at this life's end And I picture you in a garden there Amongst your feathered friends Where peace flows like a river And the "Son" shines all the day Through tear stained eyes I smile As I picture you this way Although this chapter has met it's end Your work on earth all done A new beginning you have found The Savior's favor you have won Goodbye for now my friend M.
