Obituary of Albert Tenson Leffew

Albert Leffew, 86 of Pikeville passed away Thursday, October 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Edgar and Ethel Templeton Leffew and a brother, Arvel Leffew. Albert was a United States Army veteran of the Korean War where he drove ammo trucks on the front lines. He also received several awards as a sharpshooter while in the Army. Albert retired as a truck driver from Atlas Paper Company after 47 years of service. Survivors include his sisters, Virginia Pearl (Royce) Weas, Dunlap, Ruby Lewis, Mary Morgart, and Earlene Crowe, all of Soddy Daisy, Faye (Bobby) Crowe, Hixson, Agnes Lamb, Chattanooga; brothers, James Leffew, Soddy Daisy, Freddie (Roxie) Leffew, Calhoun, GA; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be at 2 P. M., Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in the chapel of Legacy Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Simmons officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 - 8 P. M. Monday, October 31, 2016 at Legacy Funeral Home.
