Betsy Leona Bellflower, 70, of Chattanooga passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013 at her home. Betsy was the first female postal carrier in Chattanooga. After her retirement from the USPS she was a bartender for several Chattanooga area establishments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry “Cotton” Bellflower. Survivors include her sons, Russell Tillman Marter and Douglas Blaine Marter; daughter, Susan M. Alkire; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and companion, Tom Overton. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in the funeral home chapel. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until the time of the service on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the funeral home.
