Nathan Paul Cantley
Nathan Paul Cantley, 96, formerly of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at his home in Pikeville, Tennessee, on Saturday, January 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Nathan was a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served his country with honor. After his service, he enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a customer service specialist with Appalachian Power Company, where his dedication and kindness touched many lives. He was a faithful member of McConnell Baptist Church in McConnell, West Virginia, and his life was a testament to his deep love for God, family, and community.
Nathan’s greatest joys in life were spending cherished moments with his family and pursuing his passion for fishing. His wisdom, warmth, and unwavering devotion will forever be remembered by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lucille Craddock Cantley; his parents, Charles and Ida Marie Hall Cantley; his son, Michael Paul Cantley; and his brother, Charles Cantley.
Nathan is survived by his devoted daughter, Patricia Cantley, and her husband, Lewis Dwight Taylor; his cherished grandchildren and their spouses, Jason Cameron and Evelyn Nichelle Taylor, Alyssa Noel and Michael Robert Rowe; and his adored great-grandchildren, Sebastian Isaiah Taylor and Ezekiel Robert Rowe. He is also survived by his brothers, Ed and Bob Cantley, along with many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Graveside services to celebrate Nathan’s life will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 2 p.m. Military honors will be rendered to honor his service to his country.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Nathan’s memory to a charity of your choice or to an organization that supports veterans.
Nathan’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
