Obituary of Anita Carol Fisher
Please share a memory of Anita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Anita "Carol" Fisher, 69, passed away on November 6, 2024, in Knoxville, TN surrounded by her family. Born Carol Phillips on July 21, 1955, she devoted her life to her family, friends and community, leaving a lasting impact on everyone who met her.
Carol was a kind, caring, and loving Christian woman. She was cherished as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister and friend. Her life was a testament to her compassionate nature. She was revered for her ability to see the best in people and her commitment to teaching her children and grandchildren the values of love, acceptance and tolerance.
Carol's educational journey began at DuPont Elementary and concluded at Hixson High School.
She married Steve Fisher May 31, 1973. Though they would later divorce, they re-married in November 29, 2021.
Carol’s last career spanned over two decades at Dillard's Department Store. She retired June 1, 2018 after 23 years of dedicated service.
Carol's commitment to her faith was evident in her daily life and interactions with anyone she came in contact with. She always left everyone better than she found them; with a warm smile, gentle nature and words of encouragement. She was the definition of compassion and empathy. She loved and treated people the way Jesus would.
She was known for her generosity and kindness, and lived for helping those in need. She loved shopping for the Angel Tree every Christmas, her favorite holiday.
She loved Elvis, and accomplished her number one "bucket list" item by visiting Graceland in 2022 for her birthday. Carol's legacy of love, kindness, generosity and acceptance will continue to inspire all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Fisher; brother, Tommy Phillips; daughter, Brandy (Jim) Scarborough; son, Jason Fisher; granddaughter, Kayla Fisher-Templet (Tyler Limauge) and great-granddaughter, Riverleigh Fisher. Carol was preceded in death by her mother, Genevia Christine (Thomas-Phillips) Mason, and father, John Wheeler Phillips Jr.
