Obituary of Rob Jennings

Robert (Rob) W. Jennings, 94, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, October 12, 2024. Formerly of Decatur, IL, he married Jean Crystal in 1952, was a son of John E. and Edith M. Jennings, and a member of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church. He honorably served in active duty in the US Army from August 1951 to July 1953, seeing action in the Korean War, before returning home to work as a dairyman, cabinet maker, carpenter, volunteer teacher, and Walmart employee before “retiring” at age 85. He was loved and respected as a faithful husband, father, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend. He leaves two sons, Dan W. (Denise) Jennings of Hixson, TN, and Thomas A. (Donna) Jennings of Middlesex, NJ; grandchildren, Rebecca (Benjamin) Wigton of Salem, OR, Grace (Scott) Killian of Great Falls, VA, Scott Jennings of Middlesex, NJ, and Lauren (Neal) Rogers of Lombard, IL; four great-grandchildren; sister Rebecca (Jack) Hockaday of Forsyth, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Jean, daughter Laura, brother John Jennings, and sisters, Virginia Moore, Ellen Baker, and Ruth Huffman. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, October 22nd at the pavilion in Forest Hills Cemetery with Pastor Brian Salter officiating.
