Obituary of Catherine Privett Clemons

Catherine Privett Clemons "Mirt", 86, of Soddy Daisy, TN, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 4, 2024. Mirt was an avid sports enthusiast. She loved to play competitive basketball and softball. Her team played in the 1968 Softball World Series. She enjoyed watching golf, racing, women’s basketball. Her daily activities included word searches and watching QVC. She also loved gambling and making weekly trips to Belk. Mirt was known for making the best buttermilk biscuits. Her grandchildren especially loved her salmon patties. Mirt was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years Herbert "Herby" Clemons Jr; parents, Thomas Henry Privett and Della Mae Privett; siblings Edward Privett and Maude Millsaps. Her special niece Paula Mosgrove Cunningham and special nephew Thomas Adam Privett. She is survived by her daughter, Darlene (Lanny) Viall and son Roger (Debbie) Clemons all of Soddy Daisy, TN; three granddaughters, Lori (Matt) Loney of Soddy Daisy, TN, Joni (Brad) Sullivan of Sale Creek, TN and Tarasita (Glen) Keeble of Hixson, TN; great grandchildren, Brady, Emily (fiancé Garrett Newman) and Brannon Sullivan, Ashley (Wilkie) Howard, Carter, Harper and Hayden Loney, Madison and Makenzie Keeble; great-great grandchildren Hayes and Poppy (expected in December) Howard. Siblings; four brothers Hayden, Clayton, Lloyd (Gladys), Bobby (Darlene) Privett, five sisters Pauline Dennis, Sylvia Lovelady, Jessie Brannon, Karen (Wesley) Duckett, Terri Scott and bonus sister of 61 years Barbara Davis.
