Obituary of Ellenita Mills

Mrs. Ellenita Caskey Mills, 87, of Soddy-Daisy, TN passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at her home with her family present. Mrs. Mills was born in Grapeland, TX on October 10, 1936. She finished her education in Tampa, FL with a BA in Accounting. She earned her CPA at the University of South Florida and followed that profession until she retired from the Clerk of Circuit Court in Hillsboro County, FL. Her early retirement years were spent in Murphy, NC where she and her husband built their house and attended the McCaysville, GA Church of Christ. Her hobbies included working in the yard, watching the birds visit her backyard sanctuary, sewing and needlework. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on his trips with Barbershop Choruses and she took up the genealogy of her family and wrote 2 books outlining family history from 1790 to the present day. Currently she and her husband attended Clear Creek Church of Christ. Ellenita was preceded in death by her parents, Alva Bryson and Ellen Bridges Caskey, sister, Aleta and two brothers, Harlan and Don. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Robert James Mills, daughter, Annette (Jerry) Wheeler, sons, James David (Linda) Mills and Steven Carl Mills, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several extended family members. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Legacy Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
