On March 12, 2024, Roderick Alan Brenner, Sr., at the age of 75, was called to eternal rest from the city of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Born to this world on May 10, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio, Roderick served his nation with dedication and honor in the US Air Force and US Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kirkwood and Mary Brenner, stepmother Geneva Brenner, birth mother Selma Urban, and sister, Judie Urban.
Roderick attended Chattanooga State Community College, earning a degree in Associate of Science in Management. He later earned a degree in Nursing from Athens Area Technical Institute. He was also a devoted member of Brainerd Lodge. A life marked by the virtues of humility and service, Roderick leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
He is survived by his beloved partner of 15 years, John Craig; children: Roderick Alan Brenner, Jr. (Nicky) of Port Orange, FL; Jennifer Brenner of Chattanooga, TN; Andrea Tousignant (Eric) of Murfreesboro, TN; and Adam Brenner (Ana) of Dallas, TX. His memory will be cherished by his 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who will continue to walk in the light of his example. Roderick would like to say to his ex-wives, Linda and Sally, "This time, I have the last word. You both were wrong."
Roderick's life was a testament to a steadfast commitment to his family and country. His passing is a solemn occasion for all who knew him, as they reflect on a life lived with love for his family. May his family find comfort in their memories. Roderick Alan Brenner, Sr.'s presence will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
