Robert Dewey "Bob" Edgeworth III, 69, of Holly Springs, GA, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 26th, 2024, at his son's home in Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee. Born on January 12, 1955, in Bessemer, Alabama, Bob was the son of the late R.D. Bob Edgeworth Jr. and the late Elizabeth T. Edgeworth. He served in the U.S. Army, proudly part of the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, following his dedication in ROTC during high school. Bob transitioned to a successful career as a goldsmith/jewelry designer, contributing his talent to various businesses, including Dana Augustine, Inc. He leaves behind a legacy of creativity and craftsmanship. In addition to his many accomplishments, Bob dedicated the last 33 years of his life to sobriety, becoming a beacon of hope for others. His passion for helping those on their sobriety journey was evident as he served as a mentor for the Veterans Court, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of fellow veterans. Bob's commitment extended to making significant contributions to the 12-step program, providing support and guidance that touched the lives of thousands. His compassionate spirit also led him to assist children, offering valuable insights into coping mechanisms that will resonate in their lives. Bob's legacy of selflessness, kindness, and dedication to the well-being of others will continue to inspire and uplift those fortunate enough to have known him. He is survived by his sons, Clint Sides and Ryan (Keri) Sides, of Soddy-Daisy; sister, Bebe (Gary) Vincent of Martin, TN; four cherished grandchildren, Gauge, Elayna, Payton, and Logan Sides of Soddy-Daisy, as well as numerous cousins, friends, and extended family members. Bob was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jessica Sides, and his grandparents on both sides, Elbert and Gladys Thorton, and R.D. “Dewey” Sr. and Jenny Edgeworth. Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 6th, at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Bro. James Eggert officiating.
