Obituary of Kellon Lamar Gillespie

Kellon Gillespie, 41, of Hixson passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. Kellon was a graduate of Rhea County High School and was employed with Mtn. View Ford. He was a former employee of Zips Car Wash. Kellon enjoyed old school cars and UT Football, but mostly loved spending time with his kids, family, and dogs. He was very involved with the Hoops for Christ - Upward Basketball Program and loved helping with the Christmas for Kids program. His coach, Roy L. Pankey was inspired to continue coaching because of Kellon and his passion for the program. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George and Wilma A. Gillespie; maternal grandparents, Luther and Robbie J. Wilkerson; his great grandmother, Louella West, and his beloved American Bully, Ricky Rozay Gillespie. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, April Gillespie; children, Kelsey Gillespie and Eli Nightingale; father, Gerald Gillespie; mother, Deborah Gillespie; grandson, Ezekiel Gillespie; siblings, Shawn (Kassey) Gillespie, Shavasha Gillespie, Latasha Rogers, and Chelcse Clark; nephew, Matthew Gillespie; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended loving family members on April’s side of the family. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 25th in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Anthony “Tony” Rogers officiating.The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. Greg Roberson, Matthew Gillespie, Shawn Gillespie, BJ Johnson, Kelly Wilkerson, Edsel Parnell, and Keith Bauer will serve as pallbearers.
