Obituary of Grace Virginia Robinson

Grace Robinson Grace Virginia Robinson, 93, of Greeneville, TN, passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at Morning Pointe of Greeneville. Grace was born in Chattanooga, TN, the daughter of William Weber Robinson and IsaBeall Talmadge Robinson. She grew up on Missionary Ridge in Chattanooga and graduated from Girls Preparatory School in 1948. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Florida State University and her teaching certification from the University of Chattanooga. She spent many years teaching in Chattanooga for Chattanooga Public Schools and for Bright School. Grace successfully combined her love of teaching with her passion for traveling by intermittently taking teaching assignments in other countries, including Canada, Scotland, England, Australia, and Taiwan. Her students over the years came from a wide range of economic and academic backgrounds, cultures, races, faiths, and nationalities. When Grace retired from teaching, she moved first to Rabun Gap, GA, and then finally settled in Greeneville, TN. There she was blessed to have caring neighbors who looked after her and her rescued dogs. She spent her final years living at Morning Pointe in Greeneville. Grace was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga. Grace was predeceased by her parents and by her siblings: Justine Logan, William Robinson, and Charles Robinson. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews. There will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 14, at Forest Hills Cemetery in Chattanooga.
