Obituary of Donna Jean Hicks

Donna Jean Hicks, 64, of Hixson passed away on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023. Donna retired from Soddy-Daisy Middle School as a Special Needs Teacher. She had a strong faith in Christ and was member of Dallas Bay Church. She was the best mother and wife in the world. She loved to take care of her family and put her heart and soul into everything. Donna was an exceptional sister and aunt to her nieces and nephews and made sure to never forget their birthdays. She loved celebrating Christmas and always made sure to have many activities and games for everyone to enjoy. Donna was an excellent cook and had the most generous heart. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Kathryn Edwards; and her son, Ethan Aaron Hicks. Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Terry Hicks; daughter, Amanda Deanne Hicks; sisters, Sandra (Marvin) Wheeler, Peggy (Eddie) Burnette, and Laurie (Rae) Ashley; grandson, Lake Cooper Webb; brothers-in-law, David Hicks and Mark Hicks; sisters-in-law, Angie (Willis) Sanders, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, May 30th , 2023 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Tyler Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in her memory to Special Olympics.
