Obituary of Linda Irene Morgan

Linda Irene Shoemate Morgan passed peacefully in a hospice care facility after a battle with cancer and complications related to cancer. Linda retired many years ago from DuPont, where she worked for 30+ years. In her early retirement years, she enjoyed spending time with her two young grandchildren, taking care of her home, and traveling. Later in life, she made some life-changing decisions and moved to Kansas to live with her daughter, where she was able to enjoy her grandchildren even more. Linda was born in Pikeville, TN in 1940 to Beatrice Brown Jenno and Claude Jenno. Her father died when she was young. Beatrice married again to Vance Shoemate in 1950 in Walker County Georgia. Shortly after their marriage, Vance adopted Linda and she changed her name to Shoemate. Vance was the one person she considered her true father and she loved him dearly. Linda was a very caring, compassionate person who loved her family unconditionally. In her later years, she loved doing puzzles, coloring, sewing and reading. Linda also had quite a sense of humor and loved giving her son-in-law, David, a "hard time". Linda is survived by her only daughter, Cindy Hunt (husband David), her grandchildren, Lindsey Krug (partner Katelyn), Tim Krug and her longtime friend, Wanda Coleman.
